Joanne Kelly is from Newfoundland, Canada, and holds a BA with a double major in Theatre and English from Acadia University. She has worked as a staff writer for Amazon Studios, and as an actor in film, TV, and theatre around the world. She’s studied acting in Canada with David Rotenberg, and in the US with AMAW, Larry Moss, Patsy Rotenberg, Karl Bury, IO West (Improv), Ivana Chubbuck, the Carter Thor Studio, Susan Batson, Warner Loughlin and Anateus Theatre Co.
What inspired you to become an actor?
I read Romeo and Juliet when I was seven. I immediately ran across the street, pounded on my best friend's door, and forced him to read it with me.
I knew whatever strange, glittering world those words, that writing came from, I wanted to go there.
