Acting is that fine line of articulation. We have a language and theories around understanding ourselves and the material, but that will only take you so far. Then it’s about experiential. You’ll be on set or in class or on stage, and you’ll have someone ask, “Well how did that feel?” That to me is the only gauge we have to understand ourselves technically. We have awareness of what we’re feeling and we want to convey that through language, but sometimes it ok to not.
So as we continue to explore, we try to find those guideposts that help us articulate that which needs to be understood in acting, but you have to be ok with the “I don’t know.” See what happens when you do it again and see what that moment brings.
