At Anthony Meindl’s Actor Workshop (AMAW) in New York, we’ve always been proud of our actors and their unique journeys in the world of performance. Today, we’re celebrating the incredible achievement of one of our own, Clyde Voce, in Ragtime.
A Passion Ignited
Clyde’s journey in the arts began long before Broadway came calling. Growing up with a deep love for storytelling, he was inspired by the rich cultural history of musical theater. With its iconic portrayal of early 20th-century America, Ragtime became a dream production for Clyde to be part of.
The AMAW Experience
Like many of our actors, Clyde joined AMAW to refine his skills and connect with a community of creatives that nurture both raw talent and personal growth. Clyde is marked by powerful performances, raw emotion, and a dedication to becoming the best version of himself, both on and off the stage.
Our approach to acting—focusing on the inner emotional life of the actor, rather than technical tricks—resonated deeply with Clyde. “It’s about stripping away the barriers,” Clyde once said during a workshop, “and allowing yourself to be fully seen. That’s where the magic happens.”
Fast forward to today, Clyde Voce is lighting up the stage in the emotionally charged and historically significant musical Ragtime. His performance has been hailed for its depth, passion, and resonance with modern audiences. Clyde brings a fresh yet reverent energy to the production.
For those who aren’t familiar, Ragtime is a musical that explores the American experience at the turn of the 20th century, highlighting the intersection of race, class, and immigration through its compelling characters. Clyde’s portrayal adds new dimensions to this classic story, making it especially relevant today.
From Workshop to Center Stage
Clyde’s success is a testament to the power of dedication, hard work, and trusting the process. His journey is a reminder to all our actors: anything is possible when you embrace your authentic self and allow your passion to lead the way.
He’s a shining example of what can be achieved with heart, perseverance, and the fearless pursuit of one’s dreams.
Congratulations, Clyde, from your AMAW family! We can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next.
