As the Holidays remind some of us of child-like wonder and nostalgia, let’s risk putting sentimentality – which is real vulnerability – at the center of our work. . . . Sentiment isn’t something you strive to create, but by being honest and brave, a result might be to reawaken a person’s memories, nostalgia and sentimentality. But those are just fancy words for feeling. . . . Two beautiful films #drivemycar & #theworstpersonintheworld risk putting real emotion and real sentiment at the heart of their storytelling. . . . It’s easy to be “cool” or “clever” or “sarcastic” or “jaded” — let’s fight against those conceits which have become commonplace in our culture and leave us feeling no real feelings. Instead, let’s risk showing our true, open, hopeful hearts. . . . It might risk being (overly) sentimental but it’s ultimately more brave than pretending you have it all together and letting nothing or no one in.

Anthony Meindl’s Actor Workshop worldwide has grown immensely over the past 25 years. The way to get started is by taking our Foundations Course, which isn’t an introduction to Acting, but rather, an introduction to the way we work. After that we place actors in On-Going Acting Classes, Mastery Acting Classes, and set up actors with Private Acting Coaching Sessions both Online and In-Person.
